Literary collection

The formation of the Personal collection of the service of Manuscripts as an independent collection can be placed in 1996, on the occasion of the donation of the known as Papeles de Jorge Guillén, flagship of the collection. Now the service of Manuscripts is made aware of the heterogeneity of the documents that meet the demands on its conservation, primarily the uniqueness in dealing with technical and document repositories.

Cannot be pinpointed a main feature of the collection of funds deposited into the personal service for the BNE Manuscripts, although the incorporation in recent years documentary sets important figures of our literature situated this collection as a beacon of personal funds literary. A route from the first funds acquired by the end of the twentieth century authors relevant as Corpus Barga, Juan Antonio de Zunzunegui or Concha Lagos, until the latest additions of Joan Margarit, José Luis Sampedro, Rafael Sánchez Ferlosio, Juan Benet, Antonio Muñoz Molina or Rosa Montero, brings us closer to a number of documents, witnesses to the vital and professional trajectory of its producer without artifice.

The documents that meet these personal funds are heterogeneous but they mostly literary authors, autographs, drafts handwritten different versions of their works, printing, etc., that allow us to know the creative process of their works. Stands out the extensive correspondence that accompanies these legacies and brings us closer to the intimate space of scripture, but also to the cultural life of the moment.

To this rich scene of legacies of literary figures was incorporated in 2017, a new master file Editorial Tusquets thanks to generous donation by Beatriz de Moura, which has opened new doors to the growth of the collection.
