Elections
Since 2014, the National Library of Spain and the conservation centres of the Autonomous Communities have been collaborating by selecting websites for preservation around three types of elections:
- General elections
- Local and regional elections
- European elections
For this purpose, websites are selected relating to polls, surveys, electoral information, electoral studies, specific press sections on the elections, television channels, radio, political party websites, blogs on politics, interviews with candidates, social networks...
Coverage of these events starts around two months before and usually ends when the new Governments are formed.
Undoubtedly, much of the election material is ephemeral and currently only available in electronic format, so it disappears quickly. The purpose of these collections is precisely to represent the electoral climate and to capture the reactions of the different parties and their representatives both on the campaign trail and after the elections.
This selection of websites is complemented by other thematic collections that archive information on a regular and continuous basis, such as National Politics, Catalan Politics, National or Autonomous Press and Television or Public Bodies.
