The idea was to create a product that would make known the sound archive of the BNE and it was thought about a podcast, a genre on the rise in our country and a gateway to new audiences unfamiliar with what the Biblioteca Nacional de España treasures and offers. Sound fiction was the formula for an engaging story to convey the BNE philosophy to the 21st century audience in an exciting way. With characters and situations specifically created to publicize the sound collections, it reflects the identity of the institution through a series that combines entertainment, dissemination and dissemination of our sound heritage.

Much of the music and sounds used in the chapters (including sound effects, such as applause) come from the library’s sound catalog and can be found in the Biblioteca Digital Hispánica.

Synopsis

Ana is a neurologist who studies how music and sound influence our memories. When you meet Mario, a sound technician from the Biblioteca Nacional de España, you will enter a world that seems impossible. What could be the discovery of the century quickly becomes a personal labyrinth where danger and knowledge await him.

“Mnemósine” is a unique fiction created with the soundtracks of the Biblioteca Nacional de España, an archive with millions of songs, voices and sounds. The testimony of how our parents’, grandparents’ and great-grandparents’ lives sounded. And yours, too.

Ana is about to discover it. In the strangest possible way.

Its cast is headed by the young Sara Sierra (“Acacias 38”, “Dolor y gloria”) and the veteran Resu Morales (“Vergüenza”, “Hospital Central”, “Raquel busca su sitio”…). They are accompanied by Gabriel Piñero (who has gone through the stages of the Canal Theatres or the Corral de Comedias of Alcalá with works such as “Los precursores”), Sol de la Barreda (voice of Amanda Black in the audiobooks of Penguin Audio) and about twenty other voices.

The podcast is designed by the Biblioteca Nacional de España and produced by the Oficina de Agitación Cultural (OAC).
